Where and When is the entry for Brisbane BBQ Festival?

What are the opening hours?

Gates open at 11.00am and the event finishes at 9.00pm

How do I get there?

The entrance is from Gregory Terrace with taxi ranks situated along the road. The nearest Busway station is at Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital, with other bus stops in the vicinity of the Festival. The nearest train station is at Fortitude Valley (Brunswick Street). Check the Translink public transport Journey Planner to plan your trip.

Will tickets be available at the gate on the day?

No, Saturday tickets have already sold out and there are limited Sunday tickets left. Buy your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

Is there accommodation nearby?

Sure is! Rydges Hotel is located right next to the Showgrounds and have provided a special discounted rate for Festival attendees. Use this link. 

Is there parking nearby?

There will be onsite parking provided by The Brisbane Showgrounds for a fee of $13. Secure Parking have also provided a special offer to Festival attendees a short walk away at the Valley Metro Car Park for a fee of $7 - Details here.

Is the Festival family friendly?

It most certainly is! Children under 12 are free and there will a Kids Area with various sideshow entertainment.

Is Brisbane BBQ Festival 18+?

All ages are welcome, however children under 18 years need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Will there be enough food and reasonable wait times?

Even though there's a stack of entertainment, we know it's all about the food! The Festival will work closely with the Showground's Food and Beverage team to ensure there are no food shortages and the experienced vendors we have on board are capable of delivering high volumes at a time effective pace.

What happens if I lose my ticket?

Will passouts be available on the day?

There will be no passouts issued during the Festival. All required amenities are on-site including toilets, ATMs, bars and food outlets. If you are required to leave the Festival, your wristband will be removed, and you will be required to purchase another ticket on re-entry at full price – so please come prepared! 

What happens if it rains on the day?

The BBQ’s keep on smoking! Large covered areas will be provided.

Can I bring my own alcohol into the Festival?

As Brisbane BBQ Festival is a fully licensed event, no alcohol is to be brought into the Festival. There may be security searches at entry points to the event.  

Is there a dress code?

Festival friendly attire is acceptable – including singlets and shorts – although no crass, offensive or antisocial slogans on apparel permitted in the venue. Although thongs are acceptable, we recommend you wear closed in shoes for your own comfort and safety.
